研究内容

地震はどのように始まるのでしょうか?この疑問に答えるために、ゆっくり滑りと地震発生との関係に着目して研究を進めています。大地震の発生前に見られる地震活動や、断層のクリープメータとしての機能を果たす繰り返し地震の活動から、プレート境界断層の固着状態の時空間変化を捉えることを目指しています。さらに、固着域から非固着域へ遷移する領域で発生する低周波地震の活動を解析し、遷移領域におけるすべり挙動の理解にも取り組んでいます。また、余震や群発地震の発生メカニズムについても興味があり、地震活動や応力場の時空間発展に注目して研究をおこなっています。断層面の滑り挙 動は、震源域の地下構造とも関連があることがこれまでの研究で示されており、高密度地震観測に基づく震源域の地下構造イメージングにも関心があります。
