研究内容

不均質な媒質中を伝播する地震波動伝播の特徴と、超並列計算機を用いた大規模数値シミュレーションによる強震動の生成メカニズムの解明のために、

1. 高感度および広帯域地震計の波形記録の解析に基づく、不均質な地殻・上部マントル構造における地震波動伝播特性の解明

2.地震波動伝播の数値シミュレーション法の開発と、京コンピュータや地球シミュレータ等のスパコンを用いた大規模計算の実用化のための並列計算コードの開発

3.被害地震の強震動シミュレーションおよび、強震動生成メカニズムの解明のための地震波動場の可視化技法

に関する研究を進めている。
