研究内容

「地震学的手法を用いて地震や火山噴火などの自然現象を解明すること」が私の研究テーマです.地震現象と系統的に理解するためには,地震発生過程の複雑さとそこに現れる一般的性質を調べる必要があります.そこで,地震断層運動の食い違い理論をさらに発展させ,より一般的な変形による地震波励起の定式化を行い,地動回転成分の観測により断層運動の空間的変化を捉えることが出来ることを示しました.また,火山では,断層運動による地震波では見られない特異な波形を持った地震波が観測されます.特に,火山性微動では非線形な波動特性を持つ振動も多く観測され,マグマや熱水,火山ガスなどの流体が励起源に関与していると考えられます.この非線形な励起システムを観測データに基づいて制約する数理モデルを構築する手法の開発も目指しています.
