1. 13:30-13:45
TITLE: Comparative study of subduction zones regarding slow earthquakes:
NZ Hikurangi and Nankai Trough subduction zones
AUTHOR: *Kimihiro MOCHIZUKI, Makoto UYESHIMA and Kazushige OBARA
SUMMARY: We will present on-going international collaborative studies of slow
earthquakes, and introduce the current status of offshore seismic and
onshore magneto-telluric observations in the NZ Hikurangi subduction zone.

2. 13:45-14:00
TITLE: Paleomagnetic dating of tsunami boulders
AUTHOR: *Tetsuro SATO, Norihiro NAKAMURA (Tohoku University),
Kazuhisa GOTO (The University of Tokyo, Graduate School of Science),
Masaki YAMADA (Shinshu University)and Hiroyuki NAGAHAMA (Tohoku University)
SUMMARY: We applied the paleomagnetic dating to tsunami boulders in
Ishigaki Island, Beppu bay, and Kingdom of Tonga.

3. 14:00-14:15
TITLE: Heat flow anomalies around petit-spot knolls on the outer rise of
the Japan Trench: implications for pore fluid circulation through the knolls
AUTHOR: *Makoto YAMANO, Yoshifumi KAWADA (Tohoku University) and
Kouta SASAKI (Kozo Keikaku Engineering Inc.)
SUMMARY: We conducted closely-spaced heat flow measurements around knolls off
the Japan Trench as part of a research project on fluid flow and heat transport
in the uppermost part of the incoming plate.

4. 14:15-14:30
TITLE: Diffusion creep of diopside
AUTHOR: Subhajit GHOSH, Sanae KOIZUMI and *Takehiko HIRAGA
SUMMARY: We synthesized very fine-grained diospside aggregates using electric
current-assisted sintering technique. We could establish diffusion creep law of
clinopyroxene which is one of major rock forming minerals in the lower crust
using such synthesized aggregates.

5. 14:30-14:45
TITLE: Experimental validation of a two-layer model for pyroclastic density
currents
AUTHOR: *Hiroyuki A. SHIMIZU(NIED), Takehiro KOYAGUCHI, Yujiro J. SUZUKI,
Ermanno BROSCH and Gert LUBE(Massey University)
