Self Introduction

Hello, I am Hossein Sadeghi came from Mashhad, northeast Iran. I am an associate professor in the Geology Department, and head of Earthquake Research Center (EQRC), at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. I will be here for one month. I was already spent five and half years in Japan (October 1993 – March 1999) for my master’s and doctorate (Japanese Monbusho Scholarship), in the seismology lab, Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, at Kyushu University.

After the very destructive earthquake in Bam, southeastern Iran, on December 26, 2003, I became mainly interested in studying the possible reasons of such a heavy and unexpected damages. I am kindly hosted by Dr. Hiroe Miyake for a Joint Research with Prof. Hiroshi Takenaka (Kyushu University) and Dr. Sadaomi Suzuki (Tono Research Institute of Earthquake Science), on a fine estimation of the broadband ground motions over the Bam area during the Bam earthquake.
