Tsunami Records in Thailand


(1) Tsunami Records in Thailand
Seven tide gauge stations in Thailand along the coasts of the Indian Sea were working at the 2004 Sumatra Tsunami coming. Five stations of them are operated by Thai Marine Department (TMD), and the others are operated by Hydrographic Department of Royal Thai Navy (HDRTN).

(2) Time differences in the records
The above records have some time differences from the acurate time.
The times of the high and low tide in the tsunami record were compared with those of the calculated astronomical tide.
As a result, in the case of the record of Kuraburi, Phangnga, the time in the record is about 10 minutes behind accurate time.
If you use the records, please be careful.
