Born in an earthquake country, grown up in a town near the epicenter of the 1923 Kanto earthquake that devastated more than 100,000, it is quite natural for me to become interested in earthquakes and volcanoes. I have been trying to unravel the mystery of the Earth from observational approaches, in specific, with geodetic and seismological methods.
