EARTHQUAKE OBSERVATION CENTER

The main role of EARTHQUAKE OBSERVATION CENTER is to study the real time crustal activity in such regions as Kanto, Tokai, Koshin'etsu, and Nankai. When anomalous seismological and geophysical phenomena are detected by the networked telemetering systems, concentrated observations will be conducted to try to predict earthquake events in cooperation with the Earthquake Prediction Research Center and other universities. The research division of strong motion of this center has a role of the observation research center of strong motion seismology of JAPAN. Instrumentation of various observations is another important reserach item, which is also collaborative work among university memebers in all JAPAN.
