EARTHQUAKE PREDICTION RESEARCH CENTER

EARTHQUAKE PREDICTION RESEARCH CENTER is a core organization among national universities to further promote earthquake prediction studies. To this end, EPRC plays a leading role in pursuing basic researches on geophysical and geostructural features of seismogenic zones, crustal dynamics, physical processes of earthquake generation and precursory phenomena by coordinating joint field observations or laboratory experiments for scientists having common interest at universities and research institutions. The current research projects addressed by EPRC are: ocean bottom seismology, laboratory studies on physical modeling of the earthquake generation cycle, seismic refraction studies, intensive field observations of seismicity and crustal structures, studies on electromagnetic structure, and studies of crustal dynamics using GPS.
