6-14）　Public Outreach

In viewing the importance of our mission to feedback the research products to many people, we are planning to carry out the outreach activity.

 

Outreach Office

We started the outreach office consisting of a few faculty members. The main roles of this office are the following two: one is to make the public outreach more effective and systematic; the other is to grasp public needs to research activities and reflect them to our research projects.

 

Scope of our Outreach

The scope of our public outreach is rather broad. There are largely four items:

1. Public relations of research products through, for examples, Web site, publication, and press conference.

2. Public education through open house, public seminar, and so on.

3. Education of basic science for the specialists and technicians of emergency services

4. Corporation with other organizations such as national and local governments for the disaster mitigation plan.
