HPC Asia 2018 で Best Paper Award を 受 賞 し ま し た
藤田航平助教，勝島啓介氏，市村強准教授(東京大学地震研究所)，堀越将司氏(インテル)，中島研吾教授(東京大学情報基盤センター)，堀宗朗教授，Lalith Wijerathne准教授(東京大学地震研究所)による研究が，東京で開催された高性能計算に関する国際会議であるHPC Asia 2018でBest Paper Awardを受賞しました．HPC Asia 2018は高性能計算に関する国際会議の一つで，本年発表された30件のACM full paper論文のうち1件にBest Paper Awardが授与されました．

Prof. Tsuyoshi Ichimura (Earthquake Research Institute, The University of Tokyo), Dr. Masashi Horikoshi (Intel), Prof. Kengo Nakajima (Information Technology Center, The University of Tokyo), Prof. Muneo Hori and Assoc. Prof. Lalith Maddegedara (Earthquake Research Institute, The University of Tokyo) on Large-scale finite element mesh generation and analysis received Best Paper Award in HPC Asia 2018 at Tokyo, Japan. HPC Asia is one of the leading conferences in high-performance computing in Asia-Pacific region.
研究概要：授賞対象となった成果は，大規模有限要素シミュレーションのコア技術である大規模メッシュ生成手法と，高性能有限要素解析ソルバーに関する研究です． 従来手法に比べ，提案手法によりメッシュ生成を15-17倍に高速化することができ，また，時空間並列のソルバーにより東京大学のOakforest-PACS及び理化学研究所の京コンピュータにおいて高速な有限要素解析が可能となりました．
