Self Introduction

My name is Hideo Aochi, now researcher at BRGM (French Geological Survey), originally obtained PhD from the University of Tokyo in 2000. The laboratory is located in Orleans, middle-size city in Loire Valley, about 100 km south of Paris. I am in charge of research project on seismic hazard in Development Planning and Natural Risks Division in the institute.

My research topics are the mechanics and dynamics of earthquake sources and the resultant wave propagation mostly through the theoretical and numerical approaches. Recently I am involved in the application towards the mechanical-based seismic hazard study. During this visit, I will be mainly collaborating with Professor Takashi Miyatake and Dr. Hiroe Miyake on the mechanism of high frequency generation at the seismic source.

It is always my pleasure to return to this place. Regardless of my short stay, I hope to talk with many people.
