Self Introduction
My name is Craig Bina, and I am professor of geological sciences at Northwestern University, which is located just north of Chicago. My research interests include phase transitions in minerals in the Earth's interior, as well as their geophysical signatures and geodynamic consequences. During this visit, I am working with Professor Kawakatsu to try to understand the temperatures and phase relations associated with seismic reflectors that he has mapped beneath Japan. I have visited ERI before, and it is a pleasure to be back here again.
