Self Introduction
My studies focus on stress evolution after gigantic earthquakes, earthquake forecasting, and probabilistic seismic hazard assessment (PSHA). After the 2011 M9.0 Tohoku earthquake, significant increases of seismicity rates are observed around the Tokyo Metropolitan area. In respect of seismic hazard mitigation, it is urgent to propose a PSHA by considering the impact of the Tohoku earthquake. During my visit of ERI, I collaborate with researchers in the institute to associate to re-evaluate seismic hazard in the Tokyo Metropolitan area in terms of different aspects. We try to calculate the stress change after the Tohoku earthquake, build up earthquake forecasting models through a smoothing Kernel and the rate-and-state friction model, and assess short-term probabilistic seismic hazard. In order to validate the feasibility of our result, we participate the project ‘CSEP Japan’ (www.cseptesting.org/regions/japan) through submitting our earthquake forecasting models.
