Host Researcher |
Fukashi MAENO |
My primary research interest is in using seismic imaging to probe structures of Earth's interior. In particular, I am interested in illuminating detailed seismic structures of the lithosphere to explore its history of formation and evolution. Past and current research topics include Archean Slave cratonic lithosphere, High Lava Plains intraplate volcanism, Taiwan's Moho discontinuity, and Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis lithospheric anisotropy.
Most recently, I have expanded my interest to magmatic processes in active volcano revealed by seismic and strain field data.
During my stay at ERI, I intend to work with my host, Maeno san, and other colleagues to better understand these processes from both geological and geophysical viewpoints. I am an assistant professor in the Institute of Oceanography at National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taipei. I got my PhD in geophysics from MIT, and did my postdoc in the Department of Terrestrial Magnetism (DTM) of Carnegie Institution of Washington, in DC.
It's a great pleasure to be here at ERI and I look forward to interacting with many of you. I would love to know about your research and find common interests and potential future collaborations. Please come to room 415 in building 2 for a casual chat. You are also welcome to check out my website at http://homepage.ntu.edu.tw/~chinwuchen
