Takashi FURUMURA |
I am Kate, a seismologist from Taiwan. My research is primarily focused on observational seismology, mainly the physics of repeatable earthquakes through repeating microearthquakes observation in natural fault systems (papers can be downloaded from my personal website). I have a broad interest in various seismic features (e.g., tremor, swarm, doublet, foreshock-aftershock sequence, trapped wave, and so on) and the mechanisms behind. I am very grateful for having the opportunity to visit ERI, to learn things from many highly respected seismologists here.
At ERI, I work with Prof. Furumura on the better understanding of guided wave characteristics in the Taiwan-Ryukyu subduction zone and the comparison with Japan subduction zone observations. Also, I hope to explore the change of scattering properties that cause spatial and temporal changes in seismic wave character associated with Chi-Chi earthquake by waveform modeling.
