Self Introduction

Hi, to everybody! My first name is Cenka and my family name - Christova.

My scientific interests are in the field of seismology, seismogenic properties, regional stress field, seismotectonics, plate tectonics and geodynamics at convergent plate margins. The last 10 years or so I have studied mostly the contemporary dynamics of several Wadati-Benioff zones (space distribution of stresses by stress inversion) Aegean, Hokkaido, Kamchatka, Vanuatu, Ryukyu-Kyushu, Izu-Bonin, Tonga-Kermadec (not finished yet).

I am happy to have the possibility to work in ERI and to collaborate with the colleagues here on subjects that are of great interest for me: stresses in the Niigata area before and after the October 23rd 2004 event; and to re-study the stresses in the Hokkaido Wadati-Benioff zone this time based on detailed JMA data.

My non-sci interests are related to: the sea, the mountains, reading good books, animals, art and culture of different nations, collecting rock samples.
