I am a Senior Scientist at the Computational Seismology Group of the Swiss Seismological Service (SED) at ETH-Zurich. I am very thanks to Yamashita-sensei for give me this opportunity to visit his lab and to initiate a collaborative work in topic of our common interest. My main research of interest is the investigation of earthquake rupture dynamic and near source ground motion characteristics through numerical modeling.
During the short time visit at the laboratory of Yamashita-sensei at ERI, we plan to initiate a collaborative research to study earthquake rupture in 3D taking into account the nonlinear effects of thermal weakening that consider the effects of temperature, fluid pressure, and inelastic porosity. The group from Prof. Yamashita has extensively worked on this non-linear effects on rupture dynamic, assuming 1-D fault model
