Hello everybody at ERI…
I am Associate Professor at Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Kanpur, INDIA. After completion of my doctoral thesis I worked with Prof. Nakata at Hiroshima University on Active Faults during 1999-2001. In 2001, I joined IITK, and since then I have been working on Active Fault and Paleoseismology along NW Himalayan front and Kachchh region (Gujarat). In recent years, after 2004 Sumatra-Andaman earthquake I developed my research interest in paleo-tsunami and coastal paleoseismological studies. From a collaborative project between IITK and ERI-University of Tokyo we have been able to generate excellent information related to past earthquake events and land-level change from Andaman Islands. During my stay at ERI we will be able to develop further understanding on the active tectonic deformation around Andaman Islands.
