Self Introduction
My name is Michel Rabinowicz. Presently I am professor of geophysics at the University of Toulouse France. Having an initial backgroung on mathematics and theoritical physics, I enter the field of geophysics during my post doctoral work at the French Space Institute (CNES) at Toulouse. My passion is the study of physical and geological problems developping new mathematical approaches. I have first worked on the relashionships beween the Global Earth gravity field and mantle convection. Then, I moved to study dynamics of mantle flow beneath ridges based on ophiolite data and space and marine data. During the meantime, I studied the relashionship between development of ore deposits and hydrothermal circulation. Now, I am more interested on two phase flow and melt segregation in the mantle. Finally, I evolve studing the role of fluid on the development of earthquakes and volcanic eruption. It is the thema of the collaboration we intent to develop with Dr Kei Kurita during my present two months visit at ERI.
