Self Introduction
I am deeply grateful to Prof. Kurita and Prof. Kato for their generous invitation to visit ERI, and look forward with pleasure to discussing and working together with them and with other members of the Institute.
I am a researcher with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in France, and work at the FAST laboratory in Orsay (near Paris). My principal research interests are the dynamics of the Earth's mantle and general fluid mechanics. Recent projects include the dynamics of free (buoyancy-driven) subduction; the `liquid rope coiling' instability; the interaction of mantle plumes with the lithosphere; and the mechanics of anisotropic polycrystalline aggregates.
