Self Introduction
Hello. I am Peter Shearer, a Professor of Geophysics at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego. I am most grateful to Satoko Oki for inviting me and helping to make arrangements for my visit. My research involves using seismic observations to examine both Earth structure and earthquake source properties. I am particularly interested in developing new methods to analyze the vast number of seismograms now available from global and regional seismic networks. Japan and ERI have a long tradition of excellence in seismology research and some of best quality and most important seismic data in the world. I look forward to talking with many of you and learning about your work.
