Kirishima Volcano Observatory
(KVO)

KVO is established in 1963, and aimed to monitor Kirishima Volcanoes and the adjacent Kakuto caldera. Fifteen telemetered seismic stations, two tiltmeter stations, sixteen EDM lines, four of which belong to a permanent station, about 45 km of leveling line, four proton magnetometers and temperature survey at three major thermal fields are operated.
