Takashi IIDAKA |
I am an earthquake seismologist and geodecist from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. I work on a variety of seismic and geodetic studies particularly using data from subduction zone thrust faults and oceanic transform faults. I am interested in the interaction between seismic and aseismic slip events and the effects of geological structure on individual earthquake ruptures. At ERI, I plan to work with Takashi Iidada on the analysis of afterfshock datasets to determine the rupture velocity of small earthquakes. Additionally, I plan to work on studying transient, aseismic deformation with Shin'ichi Miyazaki. Iam very interested in learning what is going on in other areas of ERI, particularly with respect to earthquake mechanics and ocean-bottom geophysical observatories. So please visit me and tell me about your research.
