A database marked with a Limited on campus icon can be accessed only from within the university network. However, some databases can be accessed from outside the university network via EZproxy (Faculty members, Project staff enrolled at UTokyo)

CiNii Books
Catalog of academic journals and books kept by university libraries in Japan and their location details.
NDL Search
NDL Search is a service that allows users to search for materials and digital materials from the National Diet Library and request for various services. In addition, NDL search allows users to search for bibliographies and location information of Japanese books held by prefectural libraries and ordinance-designated city libraries, and search for other materials and digital materials provided by public, university, specialized libraries, and academic research institutions nationwide.

Web of Science Limited on campus
Web of Science is an integrated Web-based platform. It provides the tools to search across products such as Web of Science Core Collection (a database of articles from 12,000 journals) and Journal Citation Reports (a citation database of articles).
GeoRef / American Geological Institute Limited on campus
The GeoRef database, established by the American Geosciences Institute (AGI) in 1966, provides access to the most comprehensive geoscience literature of the world. Please choose "GeoRef + GeoRef Advanced Search" on the GeoScienceWorld platform.

The UTokyo Repository allows open access to a wide range of research results of members of the University of Tokyo (including papers in academic journals, dissertations, bulletins, etc.). It also contains many ERI publications such as the ERI Bulletin.

Research Navi is a pathfinder created by National Diet Library.
Journal Citation Reports Limited on campus
Web-based research tool that allows you to evaluate and compare journals using citation data drawn from over 7,000 scholarly and technical journals from more than 3,300 publishers in over 60 countries. Resources are divided in two editions, Science and Social Sciences, with data covering years 2001 to 2003. Accessible through the platform of Web of Knowledge.
ProQuest Dissertation and Theses Global Limited on campus
the world's most comprehensive collection of dissertations and theses from around the world, spanning from 1743 to the present day and offering full text for graduate works added since 1997, along with selected full text for works written prior to 1997. It contains a significant amount of new international dissertations and theses both in citations and in full text.
JapanKnowledge Lib Limited on campus
This is the largest knowledge database in Japan including Japanese encyclopedia and dictionaries. Through the database, you can search the Encyclopedia Nipponica, the Unabridged Dictionary of the Japanese Language, and Encyclopedia of Japanese Historical Place Names. (Japanese language only)
Science Chronology Premium (理科年表プレミアム) Limited on campus
Database containing science chronology from the 1925 version to the latest version. Tabular data can be downloaded as text data (CSV format). (Japanese language only)

Newspaper articles

pressreader (Former: Library PressDisplay) Limited on campus
A database that allows 2,300 newspapers from about 100 countries to be viewed in their original page layout. A maximum of 90 days worth of articles from the newspapers are collected.
Nikkei Telecom 21 (日経テレコン21) Limited on campus
Newspaper articles are available to search from Nikkei Shimbun, Nikkei Sangyo Shimbun, Nikkei MJ, etc. The number of simultaneous sessions is limited. (Japanese language only)
Asahi Shimbun Cross-Search (朝日新聞クロスサーチ) Limited on campus
This database contains full-text articles from the Asahi Shimbun (since 1945), AERA weekly magazine (since 1988), and Shukan Asahi weekly magazine (since April 2000). (Japanese language only)(Simultaneous users:4)

Database for special collections owned by the ERI Library of the University of Tokyo (東京大学地震研究所図書室特別資料データベース)
This database contains special collections kept by the ERI Library, including page images of newspapers and documents published in the Edo era, which are available for reading. (Japanese language only)
Tectonic Zone Project : Database for Earthquake Historical Materials (ひずみ集中帯プロジェクト:古地震・津波等の史資料データベース)
This database covers historical reviews for published and unpublished materials regarding historical earthquakes that occurred in Niigata, Yamagata, and Nagano Prefectures, as well as surrounding areas in the Edo era. (Japanese language only)
