Opening Hours

Monday-Friday 9:00-12:00 & 13:00-17:00

  • Closed from 12:00 to 13:00
  • Closed on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, year-end and new-year holidays, and university-wide summer holidays

Reading

No procedures are required to enter the reading room.
The reading room is an open stack room. After use, please return materials to the locations where you found them.

Borrowing

You can borrow materials using a University IC card, a Student IC card, or a Library IC card.

* You cannot borrow unbound periodicals, maps, and audio-visual materials.

Renewing

You can renew materials before the due date. Please make renewal requests at the service counter.

* You cannot extend overdue books or books reserved by other users.

You can also make a renewal request through MyOPAC, by logging in to MyOPAC and clicking "Extention" button under the menu "Status of Loan/Reservation."

Extension

Returning

Please bring materials to be returned to the service counter.
Borrowers registered at Hongo, Komaba, Kashiwa, or Shirokanedai campus can return materials borrowed from the ERI Library to the respective library on their campuses.
During closing hours, please leave materials to be returned in the book drop located in front of the library entrance.

* The entrance of the ERI Number 2 Building is locked at 17:30. Please note that no one except ERI members may enter the building after that time.

Photocopying

No photocopying machine is available for non-members of ERI inside the ERI Library.
If you wish to photocopy materials of the ERI Library at the university’s expense, please ask a library of your department to issue a “request form for photocopying a material at the university’s expense Eand bring the form to the ERI Library. (Please make enquiries about the procedure at the library of your department).

If you are a member of the Dept. of Earth and Planetary Science of the School of Science or the Dept. of Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering, you can use a copy card. Please ask at the service counter.
Other than those above, please contact the library staff for assistance.

* You must comply with the Copyright Law of Japan when you photocopy the library material.

Notes

  • Please do not bring luggage into the library. You are requested to leave luggage (except valuables and writing materials) in one of the lockers located next to the service counter.
  • No food and drinks are permitted in the library.
