Technical Division supports technical aspects of a wide range of research activities undertaken in ERI according to researchers' requests, which is composed of two sections and four subsections as follows.

| Observational information Subsection | 1 | Supports managing and maintaining earthquake data distribution network and backbone system. Also plans to archive old seismogram such as smoked-paper/microfilm and construct their database. |
