User's guide (for ERI members)

Opening hours
Monday-Friday 9:00-12:00 & 13:00-17:00
- Closed on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, year-end and new-year holidays, and university-wide summer holidays
- ERI members can enter the library using fingerprint authentication at any time with access to the reading room, the first stack room, the map room, and the photocopying machine.
User registration
You need to register to use the libraries. Please complete the "application form for a library card for the UT Libraries", and bring it to the service counter of the ERI Library.
If you have a University Staff IC card, | your University Staff IC card is your library card. |

If you are a researcher or other staff member, | please show your ERI ID Card at the service counter, where you will be issued a Library IC card. |

Reading
No procedures are required to enter the reading room.
It is an open stack room. After use, please return materials to the locations where you found them.
Borrowing
You can borrow materials using a University staff/student IC card, or a Library IC card.
There is no limit to the number of loans permitted to ERI members.

* If you want to borrow books/journals during closing hours, please fill out the application form and put it in the box in front of counter.
Renewing
You can renew materials before the due date. Please make renewal requests at the service counter.
* You cannot extend overdue books or books reserved by other users.
You can also make a renewal request through MyOPAC, by logging in to MyOPAC and clicking "Extension" button under the menu "Status of Loan/Reservation".

Returning
Please bring materials to the service counter.
During closing hours, leave materials to be returned in the book drop located in front of the library entrance.
You can return materials you have borrowed or that have been delivered from another campus (Hongo, Komaba, Kashiwa, Shirokanedai) to the ERI Library.
* Please do not leave materials borrowed from other faculties/graduate schools or other universities at the book drop of the ERI Library.
Photocopy
A photocopier is available in the map room for use by a University staff/student ID card.
You must comply with the Copyright Law of Japan when you photocopy the library material.
Notes
- Please do not open windows.
- Please be sure to turn off lights and air-conditioners as you leave the room.
- No food and drinks are allowed to be brought into the library.
