Introduction: Dr Lucas Hogan is a structural engineering researcher whose work focuses on the assessment and retrofit of existing buildings and bridges. His research integrates full-scale laboratory experiments, field testing, and earthquake reconnaissance, with a focus on reinforced concrete structures and foundations. He is a contributor to both US and New Zealand seismic assessment and retrofit guidelines for reinforced concrete buildings. He is also an engineer for New Zealand Urban Search and Rescue.
