Title: Harnessing Modern Geophysical Imaging for Future Energy and Resource Exploration

Abstract:
Global demand for energy and natural resources is projected to rise sharply in the coming decades, driven by population growth, industrial expansion including AI-driven economies, and the transition toward cleaner energy systems. Meeting this demand requires modern geophysical imaging approaches capable of extracting reliable subsurface information from noisy, high-dimensional measurements. In this talk, I will introduce advanced modeling and computational techniques that enhance geophysical imaging for future energy and resource exploration. The presentation will highlight adjoint-state methods for large-scale inverse problems, AI-assisted analysis for detecting subtle subsurface patterns, and case studies demonstrating geothermal assessments in Singapore and California.
