Theme: Assessing the impact of very-early afterslip on faults slip budget
Host: Yuji ITOH
Introduction: I am a researcher in the Geoazur laboratory interested in how faults release stress during different parts of the seismic cycle. In particular, I analyse seismological and geodetic data to obtain information on the spatial and temporal evolution of slip during the pre-, co- and post-seismic phases. My main focus has been on investigating the frictional properties of faults that drive co-seismic slip. More recently, I have broadened my interest to study the transition from slow aseismic slip to fast seismic slip and vice versa during the pre- and post-seismic phases. See https://cedtw.bitbucket.io/ for more details of my research. During my stay at ERI, I will focus on the very early stage of the post-seismic phase and investigate its impact on the fault slip budget.
