Introduction: Dr. Morgan Moschetti is a Supervisory Research Geophysicist at the U.S. Geological Survey. He leads the Ground Motion Project and the development of the ground-motion characterization for the U.S. National Seismic Hazard Model. His research focuses on observations and modeling of earthquake ground motions and their implementation in seismic hazard analyses, including observational and numerical methods. Other research interests include earthquake rate estimation and forecasts, applications of ambient seismic noise, and seismic imaging. Dr. Moschetti is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Geophysics at the Colorado School of Mines and an Associate Editor at Earthquake Spectra. He received his B.S. from the University of Washington, Seattle; M.S. degrees from University of California, Berkeley; and a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
