High resolution crustal imaging based on dense seismic arrays

Abstract
The recent development of passive seismic imaging methods, such as seismic interferometry, combined with the availability of dense arrays has now opened up many new opportunities in imaging detailed crustal structure. In this presentation, I will review our recent work on dense array deployment and passive imaging in various different geological settings. Particular focus will be on the hydrothermal system in Yellowstone where rich hydrothermal tremor signals were observed and analyzed to understand subsurface plumbing structure and eruption dynamics of iconic Yellowstone geysers. If time permits, other topics such as volcano, basin, fault zone imaging will also be discussed.
